Water Service Setup
Start, stop, or transfer your City of Silex water service.
NewStart Water Service
To start new water service at your property, you'll need to:
- Visit City Hall with a valid photo ID
- Provide proof of residence (lease, deed, or utility bill)
- Pay the $100 deposit (refundable after 12 months of good payment history)
- Complete the service application form
Service is typically activated within 1-2 business days after application approval.
StopDisconnect Service
To stop water service (when moving out):
- Notify City Hall at least 3 business days before your move-out date
- Provide your forwarding address for the final bill
- Pay any outstanding balance
Your deposit (less any outstanding charges) will be refunded to your forwarding address.
TransferTransfer Service
Moving to another address within Silex? You can transfer your service:
- Your existing deposit will transfer to the new address
- Contact City Hall with both addresses and transfer date
- Account must be in good standing to transfer
